In 1907 when a promise made was a promise kept, and a handshake truly meant something, Constantine Mims opened the doors to Border Foundry in Laredo. For generations, the Mims family cast metal, fabricated steel, and forged long lasting relationships both north and south of the Rio Grande.

From the heat, the sweat, and the deafening sound of hammers pounding on anvils, grew many admirable qualities. Among them came a strong work ethic, an eagerness to try new and innovative ideas, a burning desire to please others, and pride in a job well done. Along with the God-given talent and love of cooking, these deep-rooted traits are essential ingredients in Pete Mims’ recipe for the Border Foundry of today.
